Editorial 1

This editorial was about the assassination of the Hamas Military leader, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. He was found dead in a hotel in Dubai on January 20, 2010. People have been trying to link the assasination to Israel, but so far out of the 26 people suspected, none of them have anything to do with Israel. As The Washington Times points out, "There is no reason to mourn al-Mabhouh" he has been a terrorist for a very long time, and he recently been suspected of being the link between Hams and the Iranian Revolutionary Gaurd Corps.  The editorial also points out the American view on the whole situation. In 1976 assasination was outlawed by President Ford, and there has always been questions on how the ban is to be used in terrorist situations. Had al-Mabhouh been the leader of Al-Queda, the US Government, would be throwing a party.

I definatly agree with the editorial in that al-Mabhouh had to go. Wheras many people do not think that lack of a leader will make a change in a terrorist group, I believe it will. Just like a gang, many of the terrorists in this group, rely on their leader as they would their fathers. Terrorism will not be a eliminated completly, but there will be a slight decrease on the Hamas spectrum.
